SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — Tourism students from various schools in Central Luzon competed in the Tourism Quiz Challenge held Sept. 18 at the Ayala Malls Harbor Point Activity Center.

The competition tested the students’ knowledge of tourism and related topics as part of the activities marking National Tourism Month.

Kert V. Medina of National University-Clark won the competition, while Kristine P. Campos, also of National University-Clark, placed first runner-up. Joshua Kyle G. Ducut of Columban College Inc. finished as second runner-up.

The event was organized in partnership with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Tourism Department and tourism stakeholders.

In his welcome remarks, SBMA Tourism Department Marketing Division Chief Rodel Mayor said the competition brought together students who represent the next generation of tourism professionals and ambassadors.

“Tourism is more than just beautiful destinations. It is about our rich culture, heritage, people and the innovation that continues to shape the future of our tourism industry,” Mayor said.

He said the competition also provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge and appreciation of the tourism industry.
