TAYTAY, Rizal — Joint operatives seized about six kilograms of suspected shabu worth P40.8 million and arrested three suspected drug personalities during an anti-illegal drugs operation in Sitio Dulong Bangiad, Barangay San Juan, Taytay, Rizal, on Sept. 14, authorities said.

The suspects were identified as a 31-year-old man, a 32-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man, all residents of Sitio Dulong Bangiad.

Authorities also seized assorted firearms and other non-drug evidence during the operation. One other suspect remains at large and is being pursued by authorities.

Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson Commodore Noemie Cayabyab said PCG personnel secured identified waterways and possible waterborne escape routes to prevent the suspects from fleeing and to support the safe conduct of the operation.

The three arrested suspects are facing charges for alleged violations of Section 5, or the sale of dangerous drugs, in relation to Section 26, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The seized firearms will undergo verification and further investigation in accordance with applicable laws and procedures, including Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, authorities said.

The operation was conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office IV-A through its Rizal Provincial Office, with support from the PCG’s Coast Guard Station Rizal.

PDEA will handle the documentation, custody, processing and disposition of the arrested suspects and seized evidence, authorities said.
