SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) at the Port of Subic has removed four additional priority overstaying containers for condemnation and disposal, bringing the total number of disposed priority containers to 25 out of 118 identified for urgent disposition.

The containers held assorted agricultural and processed products that had been seized or abandoned in previous years. According to the BOC, the prolonged storage caused the contents to deteriorate, producing foul odors and posing potential health and environmental risks within the port.

The removal and disposal of the containers are part of the Port of Subic’s ongoing decongestion and sanitation efforts aimed at reducing health risks and maintaining safe and efficient port operations.

The BOC said it will continue the lawful disposition of the remaining priority overstaying containers in coordination with concerned government agencies and accredited waste management service providers, in accordance with existing laws and regulations.
