CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has successfully solved the murder case of a 37-year-old Korean national, leading to the arrest of all suspects less than three days after the victim’s body was discovered in Nueva Ecija.
In a statement released on Monday, June 22, 2026, authorities responded to a report on June 17, 2026, regarding an abandoned Ford Everest in Barangay Pias, General Tinio, Nueva Ecija. Upon conducting a police response and forensic examination, officers discovered the lifeless body of a Korean national who was reportedly engaged in the distribution of Korean beauty products in the Philippines.
Following the discovery, investigators immediately launched an intensive operation that included crime scene processing, intelligence gathering, CCTV backtracking, forensic analysis, and coordinated efforts among various police units.
Within two days, authorities identified and arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the crime, including the suspected gunman and a female accomplice believed to have participated in planning the offense. Police also recovered the getaway vehicle and the firearm allegedly used in the killing.
Investigators said forensic examination confirmed that the bullet recovered from the crime scene matched the firearm seized from one of the suspects. Witness statements, CCTV footage, and other pieces of evidence further established the suspects’ involvement in the crime.
Authorities have since filed murder charges against the arrested individuals.
Police Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez, Regional Director of PRO3, commended investigators and operating units for their swift and coordinated efforts that led to the rapid resolution of the case.
“The successful resolution of this case in less than three days demonstrates the dedication, professionalism, and operational capability of our police personnel. This accomplishment reflects our commitment to the PNP Focused Agenda through the intensified implementation of Enhanced Managing Police Operations and the delivery of Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman,” Mendez said.
PRO3 reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring public safety, protecting both local and foreign nationals, and bringing offenders to justice through efficient and evidence-based police operations. (Jason de Asis)
