CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Central Luzon recorded an 8.33 percent decline in the region’s eight focus crimes, with cases decreasing from 552 to 506 during the period of April 6 to June 3, 2026, compared to the previous monitoring period from February 6 to April 5, 2026, according to the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3).

Data showed a total reduction of 46 incidents, highlighting the impact of intensified law enforcement operations and the continued implementation of the Safer Cities and Communities Program.

Among the most significant decreases were cases of physical injuries, which dropped by 21 incidents or 30.43 percent, rape by 14 cases or 15.38 percent, and robbery by nine cases or 11.69 percent. Reductions were also recorded in theft, motor vehicle carnapping, and motorcycle carnapping.

PRO3 attributed the improvement in peace and order to sustained police visibility, intelligence-driven operations, and stronger collaboration among law enforcement agencies, local government units, and community stakeholders.

Police Brig. General Jess B. Mendez, Regional Director of PRO3, said the decline in crime incidents reflects the effectiveness of crime prevention measures being implemented across Central Luzon.

“The reduction in focus crime incidents reflects the effectiveness of our intensified crime prevention measures, sustained police visibility, and strong collaboration with our communities,” Mendez said.

The accomplishment supports the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Safer Cities and Communities Program and the Philippine National Police’s Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) framework under the PNP Focused Agenda.

PRO3 said it will continue to strengthen intelligence gathering, case monitoring, and focused police operations to sustain gains in peace and order and ensure safer communities throughout the region. (Jason de Asis)
