CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga-Two alleged high-value drug suspects were arrested and approximately Php6.8 million worth of suspected shabu was seized in an early morning anti-drug operation in Pampanga on May 2, 2026, authorities said.

The operation took place around 1:12 a.m. in Sitio Bana, Barangay Dolores, Mabalacat City. It was led by the Mabalacat City Police Station’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit, with support from the Pampanga 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 3.

Police identified the suspects only by their aliases, “Kuya” and “Panggay,” both categorized as High-Value Individuals (HVIs) in the government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign.

Authorities reported that approximately one kilogram of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, was confiscated during the operation. The seized drugs have an estimated street value of Php6.8 million. Also recovered were a caliber .45 firearm, a magazine, and four rounds of live ammunition.

Police Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez, regional director of Police Regional Office 3, commended the operating units for the successful operation. He said the accomplishment underscores the Philippine National Police’s continued efforts to intensify operations against illegal drugs and criminal activity.

“This accomplishment reflects our firm commitment to the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly in enhancing police operations and strengthening our campaign against illegal drugs and loose firearms. We will continue to intensify our efforts to ensure the safety of our communities,” Mendez said.

He added that Police Regional Office 3 will sustain intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling drug networks and maintaining peace and order across Central Luzon.

The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, along with applicable firearms-related offenses. (Jason de Asis)
