CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has mobilized 13,497 police personnel, augmentation forces, advocacy groups, and force multipliers across Central Luzon to ensure public safety during the observance of Undas 2026.

The security deployment will cover 688 interment sites across the region, comprising 501 cemeteries, 175 memorial parks, and 12 columbaria, as authorities prepare for the expected influx of visitors and travelers from October 30 to November 3.

Of the total deployment, 7,991 PRO3 personnel will be assigned to Undas security operations, including 2,802 personnel tasked to secure cemeteries and memorial parks and 5,189 others designated for security and public safety duties in various areas.

The deployment will be reinforced by 857 personnel from other agencies and 4,649 members of advocacy groups and force multipliers.

PRO3 has also established 614 Police Assistance Desks (PADs) in strategic locations to provide public assistance and facilitate immediate police response to emergencies and other incidents.

Additional police visibility and assistance measures will be implemented along major highways and expressways, including the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX), where increased traffic is expected during the holiday period.

PRO3 Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez said the deployment aims to secure cemeteries and memorial parks while maintaining police presence along major roads, transportation terminals, and other areas expected to draw large crowds.

“Our personnel will be visible where the public needs them most. Our priority is to keep people safe and make police assistance readily available throughout the observance of Undas,” Mendez said.

He urged the public to secure their homes before leaving, plan their trips ahead, observe traffic and cemetery regulations, keep children and personal belongings under close watch, and avoid unnecessary risks while traveling.

Mendez also emphasized that public safety requires cooperation between authorities and the community.

“Public safety is a shared responsibility. We ask everyone to remain alert, cooperate with authorities, and immediately report suspicious activities, emergencies, or any situation requiring police assistance. Our personnel and Police Assistance Desks are ready to help,” he added.

The security preparations form part of PRO3’s implementation of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Focused Agenda, emphasizing proactive policing, increased police visibility, public safety, and rapid emergency response. PRO3 said it would continue monitoring cemeteries, memorial parks, transportation hubs, highways, expressways, and other convergence areas throughout the Undas period. (Jason de Asis)
