CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police arrested a suspect in the robbery of a 41-year-old South Korean national in Angeles City on Saturday, about 13 hours after the incident, through a coordinated operation under the JBM Kuyog System.

The robbery occurred at around 5:55 a.m. on October 10 inside a lodging establishment in Barangay Balibago, according to the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3).

Personnel from Angeles City Police Station 4, the Angeles City Intelligence Unit, the Angeles City Investigation and Detection Management Unit, and regional intelligence and special operations units immediately conducted follow-up and hot pursuit operations.

Using closed-circuit television footage, witness accounts, and intelligence reports, police tracked down the suspect and arrested him at his residence in Barangay Amsic at around 7 p.m. the same day.

Recovered during the operation were a Glock .40-caliber pistol with ammunition, a hand grenade, clothing allegedly worn during the robbery, a motorcycle believed to have been used as a getaway vehicle, and the victim’s cellular phone and bag.

PRO3 director Police Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez credited the operation’s outcome to the prompt sharing of information and coordination among police units. He said the JBM Kuyog System strengthens intelligence-led operations and enables police personnel to respond swiftly to criminal incidents.

PRO3 said efforts would continue to locate and account for the remaining suspect, while reiterating its commitment to protecting residents and foreign visitors across Central Luzon. The case remains subject to further investigation and appropriate legal proceedings. (Jason de Asis)
