SUBIC, Zambales — The Philippine Fleet and the Republic of Korea Navy discussed ship maintenance, logistics support and other sustainment requirements during a visit by a delegation from the ROKN Logistics Command.
The delegation, led by ROKN Logistics Command chief Rear Adm. Kim Kyung Cheol, visited the Philippine Fleet headquarters at Naval Operating Base-Subic on Sept. 30, where its members were accorded arrival honors before meeting with Philippine Fleet commander Commodore Raul A. Regis.
The two sides discussed challenges and practices in sustaining new naval capabilities, including ship maintenance, logistics support, training and technical requirements.

They also exchanged information on weapons and ship systems, performance-based logistics, possible future exercises and other areas of mutual interest.
Regis thanked the ROKN Logistics Command for its continued support to the Philippine Navy, particularly in the maintenance and sustainment of Korean-made naval platforms and their associated systems.
The Korean delegation also toured the Philippine Fleet’s Lifetime Service Support Center, managed by the Offshore Combat Force, and the BRP Miguel Malvar (FFG-6). The visits provided an opportunity for the two navies to discuss maintenance, logistics and other requirements related to the ship’s operational support.

The engagement was also part of the ROKN’s preparations for the 2026 International Naval Logistics and MRO Cooperation Forum, which South Korea will host in November.
The visit focused on continuing cooperation between the two navies in ship maintenance, logistics and lifecycle support, including efforts to sustain Korean-made vessels operated by the Philippine Fleet.
