CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Two units of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) received national recognition for excellence in human rights-based policing during the 19th Founding Anniversary of the Philippine National Police Human Rights Affairs Office (HRAO) on Aug. 26, an accomplishment announced Friday.

The Tarlac Police Provincial Office, headed by Police Col. Harry R. Lorenzo III, was named Best Police Provincial Office of the Year – National Level.

Meanwhile, the Cuyapo Municipal Police Station, led by Police Lt. Col. Perfecto F. De Mayo Jr., was recognized as Best Municipal Police Station of the Year – National Level.

The awards recognized the units’ efforts in upholding human rights, accountability, professionalism, and responsive public service, reflecting their commitment to policing that is fair, respectful, and guided by the rule of law.

PRO3 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez said the recognition serves not only as an honor but also as a reminder of the responsibility carried by police personnel.

“These awards affirm the work of our personnel, but they also remind us of the standard our people expect—professional, accountable, respectful, and responsive police service. We must continue earning public trust through the way we perform our duties every day,” Mendez said.

He said the achievement also supports the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly its thrust to strengthen professionalism, accountability, and public trust. PRO3 reaffirmed its commitment to human rights-based policing and to providing police service that is fast, honest, and responsive to the needs of the people. (Jason de Asis)
