CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) arrested 10 drug suspects and seized approximately 298.61 grams of suspected shabu valued at Php2,030,548 in five separate anti-illegal drug operations across Central Luzon from August 26 to the early morning of August 27.
The operations were conducted in Bataan, Pampanga, Zambales and Olongapo City, resulting in the disruption of suspected illegal drug activities and the confiscation of a significant quantity of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu.

The latest operation was conducted at around 3 a.m. on August 27 in Barangay Calapacuan, Subic, Zambales, where police arrested two suspects, including a high-value individual (HVI), and recovered approximately 53.61 grams of suspected shabu worth Php364,548.
Four other operations were carried out on August 26.

At around 11:50 p.m. in Barangay Del Rosario, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, police arrested two suspects and seized approximately 55 grams of suspected shabu valued at Php374,000.
In Barangay Gabon, Abucay, Bataan, two suspects were arrested at around 8:30 p.m., with authorities recovering approximately 80 grams of suspected shabu worth Php544,000.
Meanwhile, two newly identified HVIs were arrested at around 8:15 p.m. in Barangay West Bajac-Bajac, Olongapo City. Police seized approximately 58 grams of suspected shabu valued at Php394,400.
Earlier that day, at around 4:05 p.m., police arrested two suspects in Barangay Talimundoc, Orani, Bataan, and confiscated approximately 52 grams of suspected shabu worth Php353,600.
PRO3 Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez said the successive operations demonstrate the regional police office’s sustained efforts to prevent illegal drugs from reaching communities.
“These operations go beyond the number of arrests and the amount of drugs seized. Every illegal drug taken off the streets is one less threat to our families, especially our young people. We will continue to pursue those involved in the illegal drug trade through judicious, lawful, and sustained police operations,” Mendez said.
The arrested suspects and confiscated evidence were brought to the respective police units for documentation and proper disposition. Appropriate charges for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared for filing in court.
PRO3 said its anti-illegal drug campaign will remain sustained and intelligence-driven in line with the PNP Focused Agenda, with continued emphasis on public safety, safer communities and effective police service. (Jason de Asis)
