BALER, Aurora — The 91st Infantry (SINAGTALA) Battalion, Philippine Army, assisted the United States III Marine Expeditionary Force in conducting initial site surveys in Casiguran and Dingalan, Aurora, as part of ongoing coordination to identify potential training areas for the Salaknib 2027 combined exercises of Philippine and US forces.

On Monday, Aug. 17, 2nd Lt. Reymark C. Ayon, Platoon Leader of Bravo “Bulls” Company, 91IB, together with personnel from the US III Marine Expeditionary Force led by Maj. Zachary Coffman, conducted a courtesy call and coordination meeting with Casiguran Mayor Roynald Soriano regarding the initial site survey and related planning activities.

The team proceeded to Casapsapan Beach to assess proposed training areas and gather relevant information for further planning and coordination. It also visited the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO), where further discussions were held with President and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Gil G. Taway IV regarding matters related to the site survey and area assessment.

The activity continued Tuesday, Aug. 18, in Dingalan, where the team conducted a similar initial assessment and coordination for potential training areas in the municipality.

The site surveys form part of the preparatory activities for Salaknib 2027, highlighting the importance of coordination among the Armed Forces of the Philippines, US forces, local government units, and other stakeholders in identifying and validating suitable training areas.

Under the guidance of Lt. Col. Michelangelo G. Ramirez, Commanding Officer of the 91st Infantry Battalion, the unit continues to support coordination with partner forces and local authorities in preparation for activities aimed at enhancing interoperability, cooperation, and security preparedness.
