SM Foundation officially welcomed its newest batch of college scholars during an Awarding Ceremony and Orientation held on July 21, 2026, at the SM Store Training Room in SM City Olongapo Downtown.

The event marked the beginning of an important academic journey for the scholars, as they joined the growing family of SM College Scholarship beneficiaries.

During the program, four new scholars were formally recognized and inducted into the scholarship program. They also participated in an orientation session that provided an overview of the scholarship program, including its benefits, expectations, and opportunities for personal growth and development.

The event concluded with a group photo session and a fellowship dinner shared among the scholars, their parents, and members of the SM Foundation community.

The SM College Scholarship Program traces its roots to the vision of SM patriarch Henry Sy, Sr., who believed that education is a powerful tool for uplifting lives.

His aspiration was to help one child from a less privileged family earn a college degree, creating opportunities not only for the scholar but also for their family.

Through education, graduates are empowered to support their siblings, improve their family’s circumstances, and contribute positively to their communities. (advl)
