NEW CLARK CITY, Tarlac — The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) Group and StB GigaFactory Inc. have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore renewable energy generation, energy storage systems and electric mobility solutions for New Clark City and other BCDA properties.

The agreement was signed by BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang and StB GigaFactory CEO Dennis C. Ibarra.

Under the MOU, BCDA will provide site access, relevant project information and administrative support for the proposed initiatives. StB GigaFactory, meanwhile, will conduct site surveys, technical feasibility studies and financial modeling and prepare recommendations for potential projects.

The partnership seeks to develop energy solutions aimed at improving access to cleaner power, strengthening energy resilience and supporting emerging industries and technologies.

The collaboration also builds on New Clark City’s development as a hub for advanced technology, renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure. The area is home to StB GigaFactory, which the companies said is the Philippines’ first manufacturer of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

The partnership is expected to explore how renewable energy generation, energy storage and electric mobility technologies can be integrated into large-scale developments.

The initiative is also aligned with the Marcos administration’s efforts to strengthen energy security, expand renewable energy use, improve climate resilience and promote sustainable infrastructure to support long-term economic growth.
