BATAAN — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Limay recognized AboitizPower facilities GNPower Dinginin (GNPD) and GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC), the country’s largest combined power generation capacity, as among its top importers during the agency’s Stakeholders’ Appreciation and Recognition program last July 10.
GNPD was honored as the fourth top importer, while GMEC secured the seventh spot on the prestigious list.
The recognition highlights the companies’ continued commitment to regulatory compliance and their significant contribution to government revenues through the timely payment of customs duties and taxes, supporting national development and economic progress.
Under the leadership of BOC District Collector Atty. Kriden Balgomera and Sub-port Collector Atty. Marc Anthony Patriarca, efficient customs processes have enabled the timely release of critical fuel shipments. This collaboration has been vital in ensuring the uninterrupted operations of the power plants and maintaining a stable electricity supply for the Luzon and Visayas grids.
The plaques of recognition were received by GMEC and GNPD Chief Operating Officer Emmanuel Lopez and Fuels Management Manager Joel Avila.
Led by Lopez, the plants continue to strengthen the country’s energy security while creating shared value for their host communities through operational excellence, responsible business practices, investments in education, environmental stewardship, and community development initiatives across Bataan.
By combining reliable power generation with strict regulatory compliance, GMEC and GNPD continue to serve as catalyst partners for both the nation’s energy needs and sustainable economic progress. (PR)
