CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA— The Social Security System (SSS) brought its services to selected public markets on June 26, 2026 as it held its Palengke Caravan across Luzon, moving routine transactions from branch offices to markets and nearby communities to make services more accessible to members and workers.

SSS Vice President for Luzon Central 2 Division Gloria Corazon M. Andrada said the simultaneous rollout was aimed at market vendors, self-employed individuals, pensioners, employers, and informal sector workers who often struggle to set aside time to visit SSS offices during business hours.

Andrada added that by placing its services in market areas, the SSS sought to reduce travel time, lost income, and the inconvenience of long queues.

“We understand that every hour spent away from the market means lost income for many vendors,” Andrada said. “That is why SSS goes where our members are. Through the Palengke Caravan, we bring our services closer to the people, making social security more accessible, convenient, and responsive to their everyday needs.”

During the caravan, SSS personnel assisted members with registration, My.SSS account creation, contribution verification, Annual Confirmation of Pensioners or ACOP, benefit and loan applications, and other membership-related transactions. Information materials were also distributed to help the public better understand SSS benefits, online services, and the importance of maintaining active membership.

At the City of San Fernando Public Market in Pampanga, Andrada encouraged market vendors and workers to prioritize their family’s future by investing in social security.

“If we truly love our family, let us invest in SSS. Every contribution we make today is an investment in our family’s future. It provides financial protection not only for ourselves but also for our loved ones during life’s uncertainties—from sickness and maternity to disability, unemployment, retirement, and even death. Through SSS, we are building a more secure future for the next generation,” she said.

Under the Luzon Central 2 Division, 10 participating branches served around 2,000 members during the activity. The Palengke Caravan is part of its continuing efforts to expand service delivery and strengthen public awareness of social security protection, with four rounds scheduled this year across Luzon.
