Embassy of Korea Commends PRO3 for Swift Resolution of Korean National’s Murder Case

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Manila has commended the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) for its swift and professional resolution of the murder case involving a 37-year-old South Korean national in Nueva Ecija.

In a formal letter dated June 25, 2026, the Korean Embassy expressed its appreciation to PRO3, the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office, and all operating units involved in the investigation, citing the police force’s “swift and thorough resolution” of the case. The Embassy also recognized the dedication and professionalism demonstrated by Philippine law enforcement authorities.

The victim was found dead inside an abandoned vehicle in General Tinio, Nueva Ecija, on June 17, 2026. Following the discovery, PRO3 launched an intensive investigation that included coordinated intelligence operations, forensic examinations, CCTV backtracking, and close collaboration among various police units.

Within three days, investigators successfully identified and arrested the key suspects, leading to the rapid resolution of the case.

According to the Korean Embassy, the prompt and decisive actions of the police not only helped bring justice to the victim but also strengthened public confidence in the Philippine justice system and highlighted the strong cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the Philippines in law enforcement.

Police Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez, Regional Director of PRO3, attributed the accomplishment to the professionalism, dedication, and teamwork of the personnel involved in the investigation.

“This recognition from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea reflects the unwavering commitment of PRO3 personnel to deliver swift, precise, and evidence-based police operations. We remain committed to protecting everyone in Central Luzon—Filipinos and foreign nationals alike—through disciplined and coordinated law enforcement,” Mendez said.

He added that PRO3 will continue enhancing its investigative capabilities, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and expanding international cooperation to ensure the timely resolution of criminal cases and the protection of communities.

Mendez also reaffirmed the regional office’s commitment to the Philippine National Police’s Focused Agenda, emphasizing sustained crime solution initiatives, operational excellence, and the delivery of “Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”

PRO3 likewise reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining strong partnerships with international stakeholders to help ensure that Central Luzon remains a safe and secure region for both local residents and foreign nationals. (Jason de Asis)
