ZERO MAJOR INCIDENTS REPORTED AS CLASSES OPEN ACROSS CENTRAL LUZON

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The opening of School Year 2026–2027 across Central Luzon proceeded smoothly and peacefully, with the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) recording zero major incidents on the first day of classes.

The positive development came as thousands of police personnel were deployed across the region under the Philippine National Police’s school opening security operations to ensure the safety and security of students, teachers, parents, and school personnel.

Police officers were strategically stationed in and around schools, major roads, transportation terminals, and other public convergence areas. Close coordination was also maintained with local government units, school authorities, force multipliers, and community stakeholders to facilitate traffic management and maintain public order.

PRO3 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Jess B. Mendez attributed the incident-free opening of classes to the strong collaboration among government agencies, educational institutions, and the public.

“The peaceful opening of classes across Central Luzon reflects what can be achieved when communities come together with a shared commitment to the safety and well-being of our learners,” Mendez said.

Throughout the day, police personnel conducted intensified patrol operations and maintained a visible presence in school zones to deter criminal activities and ensure the smooth movement of students and commuters.

Mendez assured the public that PRO3 will continue to sustain its security measures throughout the academic year through strengthened community partnerships, increased police visibility, and proactive law enforcement efforts.

The incident-free opening of classes highlights PRO3’s continuing commitment to providing responsive police service and supporting a safe, secure, and conducive learning environment for all learners across Central Luzon. (Jason de Asis)
