SAN MARCELINO, Zambales — The San Marcelino District Hospital (SMDH) a gastro-intestinal endoscopy machine that would enable medical personnel to examine a patient’s internal organs and conduct biopsy to diagnose illnesses.
The machine, a Fuji Eluxeo Lite 6000 Multi-LED Endoscope System, was acquired by the provincial government, an announcement from the office of Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. said on Friday, September 4.

The Fujifilm Eluxeo Lite 6000 is an advanced multi-LED endoscopic imaging system that combines a reliable three-LED light source with a high-performance video processor for clear clinical diagnosis and medical treatment.
It is said to output full high-definition images and videos using white light to depict subjects in natural color and short wavelength light for higher contrast.
The SMDH management said that the new system would enable its staff to perform upper endoscopy to examine the esophagus, stomach, or duodenum, as well as duodenoscopy to access the bile and pancreatic ducts.
The system can also be used for colonoscopy, which examines the inside of the large intestine, including colon and rectum.
The SMDH advised patients wishing to undergo endoscopic examination to prepare their IDs and update PhilHealth membership card, and register at the SMDH’s PhilHealth YAKAP Clinic to avail of the procedure. – Taktikom News & Features
