PRO3 Reports Nearly 49% Drop in Crimes Against Persons Under Safer Cities Program

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) reported a significant decline in crimes against persons following the implementation of the Safer Cities Program across Central Luzon.

Data from the regional police office showed that cases decreased from 41 incidents recorded between March 26 and April 5, 2026, to 21 cases from April 6 to April 16, 2026, reflecting a reduction of 20 cases or nearly 49 percent.

PRO3 Regional Director Jess B. Mendez attributed the decrease to intensified police visibility, strategic deployment of personnel, and strengthened coordination with local government units and community partners.

“This reflects what consistent and well-coordinated policing can achieve on the ground. Our efforts are aligned with the Philippine National Police to ensure that communities remain safe, secure, and conducive to progress,” Mendez said.

The Safer Cities Program supports initiatives of the Department of the Interior and Local Government and is reinforced by the leadership of Rommel Francisco Marbil, Chief of the Philippine National Police. The program focuses on boosting police presence, improving response time, and strengthening community engagement to prevent crime.

PRO3 officials assured the public that the regional police force will continue to sustain its preventive strategies and strengthen collaboration with partner agencies and communities to maintain peace and order throughout Central Luzon. (Jason de Asis)
