CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police recovered seven firearms, a hand grenade, assorted ammunition and suspected illegal drugs in three separate operations in Zambales on September 26, 2026, involving individuals linked through police intelligence to a robbery group.

Two search warrant operations in San Antonio resulted in the recovery of six firearms, a hand grenade and assorted ammunition, according to the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3).

Meanwhile, a buy-bust operation in Cabangan led to the arrest of another suspect and the confiscation of 1.61 grams of suspected shabu, 30.1 grams of suspected marijuana and a caliber .38 revolver.

PRO3 Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez said the operations underscored the importance of sustained intelligence gathering and coordination among police units.

“Our objective is to disrupt the capability of criminal groups before they can victimize more people. We will continue intelligence-driven operations to keep our communities safe,” Mendez said.

The operations form part of the Philippine National Police’ campaign against criminality, illegal drugs and loose firearms under the PNP Focused Agenda of the PNP.

Police said appropriate charges will be filed against the arrested suspect, while the recovered firearms, ammunition, grenade and suspected illegal drugs were secured as evidence. (Jason de Asis)
