SUBIC, Zambales — The Philippine and United States navies discussed fleet modernization, sustainment and capability development during a meeting at the Philippine Fleet headquarters at Naval Operating Base-Subic on Sept. 21.

Capt. Tammy McCreary, USN, deputy portfolio acquisition executive for the International Fleet Support Program (PMS 326), visited the Philippine Fleet and paid a courtesy call on Fleet Commander Commodore Raul A. Regis, PN.

McCreary was accorded sideboys honors upon arrival. The meeting was attended by Philippine Fleet headquarters command and staff officials and commanders of subordinate units.

Both sides discussed modernization and sustainment initiatives under the International Fleet Support Program, as well as current concerns and other matters related to the Philippine Fleet’s capability requirements.

The meeting also explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation in international fleet support, capability development and sustainment as the Philippine Fleet continues its modernization efforts and maintains operational readiness.

The visit underscored continued professional engagement between the Philippine Navy and US Navy and provided an avenue for further cooperation on fleet capabilities and sustainment.
