CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A total of 575 newly appointed Patrolmen and Patrolwomen formally joined the Philippine National Police (PNP) after taking their Oath of Office on Sept. 16 at the PRO3 Parade Ground, Camp Captain Julian Olivas.

The new personnel were selected from more than 3,000 applicants who underwent a recruitment and selection process that included screening, medical and psychological examinations, and background validation.

Of the 575 appointees, 422 filled attrition quota slots while 153 were selected under the regular quota, providing additional personnel to the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) and strengthening police presence and operational capability across Central Luzon.

PRO3 Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez administered the oath following the formal presentation of the new appointees by Police Col. Reynaldo S. Ogay Jr., Deputy Regional Director for Administration and head of the Regional Screening Committee.

In his message, Mendez reminded the new police personnel that joining the PNP carries responsibility, accountability, and the trust of the public.

“The training will build not only your physical strength, but also your discipline, character, and ability to make the right decision under pressure,” Mendez said.

He stressed that the authority granted to police officers should be treated as a responsibility entrusted to them to protect the people, uphold the law, and serve with integrity.

Mendez also said the entry of the new personnel supports the PNP’s efforts to strengthen personnel capability, professionalism, and responsive police service. The recruits will undergo formal training to prepare them for the discipline, demands, and responsibilities of police work.

Their entry into the organization forms part of PRO3’s continuing efforts to develop a disciplined, professional, and people-centered police force capable of delivering responsive public service across Central Luzon. (Jason de Asis)
