TARLAC — The Luisita Interchange of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) will be expanded to improve access between the expressway and nearby communities in Tarlac.

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), the Provincial Government of Tarlac, and NLEX Corp. held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project, which will add a northbound entry ramp and a southbound exit ramp at the interchange.

The new northbound entry ramp will allow motorists coming from MacArthur Highway to directly access SCTEX when traveling north. The southbound exit ramp will enable motorists from Northern Luzon to leave the expressway directly at Luisita.

BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang said the project forms part of efforts to strengthen connectivity within the Luzon Economic Corridor and support business and economic growth.

Tarlac Gov. Christian Tell Yap said the improved access would provide residents with better connections to jobs, businesses, and other economic opportunities.

The expansion is expected to improve mobility and connectivity in Tarlac and other parts of Central Luzon. (PR)
