FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – The 7th Infantry “Kaugnay” Division (7ID) of the Philippine Army celebrated its 38th founding anniversary on Aug. 1, reaffirming its commitment to national security, military professionalism, and nation-building through strengthened partnerships.

Carrying the theme, “7ID@38: Pamilya at Malasakit – Sandigan Tungo sa Matatag at Matibay na KAUGNAY,” the celebration highlighted the Division’s nearly four decades of service in maintaining peace and security, protecting communities, and supporting national development.

The anniversary program gathered active and retired military personnel, civilian human resources, government officials, stakeholders, and partner organizations in honoring the Division’s achievements and enduring legacy of service.

Among the highlights of the celebration were the Anniversary March of former 7ID commanders, the inauguration of the 7ID Working Museum, recognition of outstanding military units, personnel, Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit Active Auxiliaries (CAA), Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) cadets, and partner stakeholders, as well as the anniversary socials.

The 7ID also received the Army Governance Pathway (AGP) Institutionalized Status, recognizing its sustained compliance with governance standards that promote organizational excellence, effective systems, and institutional integrity.

The award was presented by Lt. Gen. Donald M. Gumiran, Commanding General of the Philippine Army, and received by Maj. Gen. Joseph Norwin D. Pasamonte, commander of the 7ID, assisted by Division Sergeant Major Chief Master Sgt. Alvin M. Bacsa.

In his welcome remarks, Pasamonte said the anniversary serves not only as a celebration of the Division’s accomplishments but also as a reaffirmation of its commitment to the principles that have guided the organization throughout its history.

“As we celebrate our 38th Founding Anniversary, may we always remember our past, continue to look forward to our future, and preserve the identity that has defined the 7th Infantry Division—Discipline and Excellence,” Pasamonte said.

Serving as guest of honor and speaker, Gumiran commended the 7ID for its significant contributions to territorial defense, force development, and organizational transformation. He also cited the Division’s innovative programs, including Teatro Kaugnay: “LIYAB,” which promotes patriotism and strengthens national identity.

Gumiran noted that the 7ID was the first Philippine Army division he visited after assuming command, underscoring its strategic role in advancing the Army’s modernization and territorial defense initiatives.

He described the Kaugnay Division as one of the Philippine Army’s leading multi-domain capable maneuver divisions and expressed confidence that its soldiers and civilian personnel would continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and dedicated public service.

As it enters its fourth decade of service, the 7ID renewed its commitment to strengthening partnerships, sustaining peace and security, enhancing operational readiness, and contributing to a stronger, safer, and more resilient Philippines through its enduring values of discipline and excellence.
