NGCP Announces Lower Transmission Rates for June 2026 Electric Bills

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced a reduction in overall transmission rates that will result in lower electricity charges for consumers in June 2026.

In a statement, NGCP said the overall average transmission rate for the May 2026 billing period decreased by 9.33 percent to P1.4492 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), from P1.5983 per kWh in April.

The reduction was attributed to lower transmission wheeling and ancillary services (AS) rates.

Transmission wheeling rates, which cover NGCP’s electricity delivery services, declined by 6.99 percent from P0.6028 per kWh in April to P0.5607 per kWh in May.

Meanwhile, ancillary services rates, which cover costs for maintaining grid stability during power supply-demand imbalances, dropped by 10.73 percent to P0.7220 per kWh from P0.8088 per kWh in the previous billing period.

NGCP said consumers will see the lower transmission charges reflected in their June 2026 electricity bills.

The grid operator noted that it charges only 56 centavos per kWh for the delivery of its services and emphasized that its revenues are regulated and capped by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). (PR)
