13 Municipalities in Zambales, Provincial Government Pass 2025 DILG Good Financial Housekeeping Assessment

IBA, Zambales — The Provincial Government of Zambales and all 13 municipalities in the province have passed the 2025 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) Assessment of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), demonstrating compliance with government standards on transparency, accountability, and financial management.

Recognized under the assessment were the Provincial Government of Zambales and the municipalities of Botolan, Cabangan, Candelaria, Castillejos, Iba, Masinloc, Palauig, San Antonio, San Felipe, San Marcelino, San Narciso, Sta. Cruz, and Subic.

The GFH Assessment evaluates local government units (LGUs) based on their adherence to accounting and auditing standards, as well as the timely submission and public disclosure of key financial documents.

According to the DILG, the assessment serves as an indicator of sound fiscal management and good governance among LGUs, ensuring that public funds are managed responsibly and transparently.

Provincial officials said the recognition reflects the commitment of local government leaders and employees across Zambales to uphold integrity, accountability, and fiscal discipline in the delivery of public services.

The achievement also highlights the province’s continued efforts to strengthen governance practices and maintain public trust through transparent and efficient financial management.

Under the administration of Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr., the Provincial Government of Zambales has continued to implement programs aimed at enhancing governance and improving services for residents throughout the province.

Officials likewise commended the municipalities for their collective effort in meeting the standards set under the DILG’s Good Financial Housekeeping Assessment, describing the recognition as a significant milestone in promoting good governance and financial excellence in Zambales.
