CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Regional Director Police Brigadier General Jess B. Mendez personally conducted an early morning inspection of selected schools across Central Luzon on June 8, 2026, to ensure the safety and security of learners during the opening of classes.
The inspection formed part of the Philippine National Police’s support to the Department of Education in ensuring a safe, orderly, and conducive learning environment for students, teachers, and parents as the new school year officially began.
During his visit, Police Brig. Gen. Mendez coordinated with school heads and education officials on security arrangements, traffic management, and other safety preparations. He also assessed the deployment of police personnel assigned to school safety operations and checked the functionality of Police Assistance Desks (PADs) established in key school areas.
The PRO3 chief likewise engaged with police officers on duty, reminding them to maintain high visibility, approachability, and readiness to respond to any incidents throughout the school opening period.
“Seeing our personnel on the ground and speaking directly with school officials allowed us to verify that our security preparations are in place. We want every learner to feel safe, every parent to have peace of mind, and every teacher to focus on delivering quality education,” Police Brig. Gen. Mendez said.
He emphasized that strong police visibility in schools plays a vital role in ensuring a secure learning environment and reassuring the public during the start of the academic year.
Mendez also called on the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities, stressing that school safety is a shared responsibility among law enforcement, education officials, parents, and the community.
PRO3 reiterated its commitment to the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly in strengthening community partnerships and delivering proactive, responsive police service to maintain peace and order across Central Luzon.
With heightened police deployment in strategic areas, PRO3 assured continued support to ensure a safe and successful start of the school year for all learners in the region. (Jason de Asis)
