GENERAL NAKAR, Quezon — Troops of the 80th Infantry “Steadfast” Battalion successfully recovered several high-powered firearms during an intelligence-driven operation conducted at Sitio Madaraki, Barangay Umiray, General Nakar, Quezon, military officials reported.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Joint Task Group 7-2 as part of ongoing security efforts to maintain peace and stability in Quezon Province and nearby areas.
Recovered during the operation were one FN FAL caliber .30 rifle with magazine, one caliber .45 pistol with magazine, one improvised pistol or shotgun, and one upper receiver of an improvised shotgun.
Authorities said the operation highlights the continued campaign against lawless elements and the government’s intensified efforts to prevent the resurgence of armed threats in communities.
Brigadier General Eugenio Julio C. Osias IV, Commander of the 703rd Infantry “Agila” Brigade based in Barangay Calaanan, Bongabon, Nueva Ecija, commended the operating troops for their vigilance and professionalism in the conduct of the operation.
According to Brig. Gen. Osias, the successful recovery demonstrates the effectiveness of sustained intelligence-driven operations in keeping communities peaceful, secure, and resilient against security threats.
The Philippine Army reaffirmed its commitment to continue security and peacebuilding operations in coordination with local government units, partner agencies, and communities to ensure public safety and lasting peace in the region. (Jason de Asis)
