BATAAN–Some 300 students, youth advocates, educators, and environmental partners joined the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in promoting biodiversity conservation and climate action through BayaNiBay 2.0 program in Bataan.
Led by the Protected Area Management Office and Protected Area Management Board of Bataan Natural Park, in partnership with Bataan Peninsula State University and CSI: Earth, the event highlighted the role of the youth and academe in protecting natural ecosystems and supporting conservation efforts.
DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo noted that youth participation is vital in building stronger public action for the environment.
“Modern-day heroism takes many forms—from students advocating climate action to communities safeguarding protected areas and researchers advancing environmental science,” Pablo said.
The initiative supports the Philippine Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan 2024–2040, particularly in strengthening communication, education, and public awareness on biodiversity conservation.

DENR Bataan Provincial Head Raul Mamac thanked partners and stakeholders for supporting efforts to protect Bataan Natural Park.
The activity also supports the proposed institutionalization of “Green Education” at Bataan Peninsula State University to promote long-term environmental awareness and stewardship. (Text and photos courtesy of DENR Central Luzon)
