SAN MARCELINO, Zambales — The Social Security System (SSS) brought various services closer to its members through the SSS Palengke Caravan held at the lobby of the San Marcelino municipal hall on Friday, Aug. 28.
SSS Olongapo Assistant Branch Head Renato Madera III said the program aims to make SSS services more accessible to residents in remote communities, sparing them the need to travel to an SSS branch, especially during periods of inclement weather.
The activity was originally scheduled at the San Marcelino Public Market but was transferred to the municipal hall due to heavy rainfall.

Held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the caravan assisted members in verifying and updating their contact information, registering for SSS online services, and checking their contribution and loan records.
SSS personnel also assisted members in filing various benefits online, including sickness, maternity, disability, retirement, funeral and death benefits, as well as salary, emergency and pension loans. (Text and photos by Jun Dumaguing for Ang Pahayagan)
