SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA — AboitizPower, through its private limited partnerships GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin (GNPD), was recognized for its support to rehabilitation and livelihood efforts for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) after being named a special awardee during the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Region III’s 35th Anniversary celebration.
The recognition cited GMEC and GNPD’s partnership with BJMP Mariveles through Project HOPE, an aquaponics livelihood initiative that gives PDLs practical skills while helping improve food security and create an additional source of income within the facility.
Project HOPE combines fish production and vegetable cultivation through an integrated aquaponics system. Beyond providing food, the initiative gives PDLs an opportunity to learn livelihood skills that can potentially support their reintegration into their families and communities after their release.
