BALANGA CITY, Bataan — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has donated 10 cubic meters of logs to the Department of Education (DepEd) Bataan Eastern District for the construction, repair and improvement of public school facilities.
The donation was facilitated by the DENR Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) in Pilar through the signing of a Deed of Donation, formalizing the transfer of the materials for use in public schools.
CENRO Pilar Chief Marivic Santos said the logs were sourced from lawful tree-cutting activities within the office’s jurisdiction and were determined to be suitable for public use.
“The donated materials will be used for the construction, repair and improvement of school facilities, including ceilings, tables and other essential fixtures. Through this initiative, we hope to help provide students with a safer and more conducive learning environment,” Santos said.

DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo said the donation highlights the agency’s commitment to responsible resource management while supporting government efforts to improve public services.
“This initiative demonstrates how responsibly managed forest resources can create meaningful benefits beyond environmental stewardship. By supporting our public schools, we are investing in the education of our youth while reinforcing the value of collaboration among government agencies in serving our communities,” Pablo said.
