MARIA AURORA, Aurora – Troopers of the 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion (91st IB), Philippine Army, joined government officials and community stakeholders in a wreath-laying ceremony on Tuesday as part of the commemoration of the 77th Founding Anniversary of the Municipality of Maria Aurora.

Held at the Municipal Hall grounds, the ceremony paid tribute to the enduring legacy of Maria Aurora Aragon Quezon and her father, Commonwealth President Manuel L. Quezon, through the offering of wreaths at their head busts.

Leading the ceremony were Aurora Representative Rommel Rico T. Angara, Governor Isidro P. Galban, Maria Aurora Mayor Ariel S. Bitong, Baler Mayor Rhett Ronan T. Angara, Dipaculao Mayor Danilo Tolentino, Dinalungan Mayor Arvee A. Vargas, Casiguran Mayor Roynaldo Soriano, Dilasag Mayor Romner A. Agustin, Brig. Gen. Eugenio Julio C. Osias IV, commander of the 703rd “Agila” Brigade, 7th Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division, Philippine Army, and Lt. Col. Michelangelo G. Ramirez, commanding officer of the 91st Infantry Battalion.

Personnel from the Headquarters Company and Charlie Company of the 91st IB also participated in the solemn ceremony, alongside representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Indigenous Peoples (IP) communities, local government offices, and other stakeholders.

The anniversary celebration carried the theme, “Ganda ng Maria Aurora sa Ika-77 Taon: Dakilang Pamana, Nagkakaisang Mamamayan Tungo sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan,” highlighting the municipality’s rich historical heritage, unity, and shared vision for sustainable development.

Ramirez said the wreath-laying ceremony served as a fitting tribute to the enduring legacy of the Quezon family and the values of patriotism and public service they embodied.

“The wreath-laying ceremony honors the enduring legacy of Maria Aurora Aragon Quezon and President Manuel L. Quezon. As soldiers, we remain committed to serving the nation with honor, integrity, and selfless dedication,” Ramirez said.

The 91st IB said the activity reaffirmed the Philippine Army’s commitment to preserving the nation’s historical heritage, promoting patriotism, and strengthening partnerships with local communities in support of peace, unity, and nation-building. (Jason de Asis)
