MANILA— The Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFOMS) and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) signed a memorandum of agreement Monday, July 20, to strengthen the digital safety and security of media workers.

PTFOMS Executive Director Jose Torres Jr. said the partnership aims to improve coordination in addressing online threats, pressures, and cyberattacks targeting journalists through the sharing of resources and technical expertise.

CICC Executive Director Aboy Paraiso said the agency will serve as the focal point for monitoring, tracking, and providing technical support to help mitigate online threats against media workers nationwide.

National Press Club of the Philippines President Mina Navarro welcomed the agreement, calling it another step toward enhancing digital safety and protecting press freedom.
