CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — More than 1,000 police personnel from the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) have been deployed to Metro Manila to augment the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and help ensure the peaceful, orderly, and secure observance of the country’s 128th Independence Day celebration on June 12, 2026.

According to PRO3, a total of 1,077 personnel were mobilized for the deployment, consisting of 1,000 Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) personnel and 77 support personnel. The contingent is composed of officers from various provincial police offices, the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3, and other support units across Central Luzon.

Before deployment, the personnel underwent briefings and readiness preparations to ensure they are fully equipped to perform their assigned duties during the national celebration.

PRO3 Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Jess B. Mendez, said the augmentation highlights the region’s commitment to supporting nationwide security operations and maintaining public safety during major national events.

“This deployment reflects the dedication and professionalism of our personnel in supporting the Philippine National Police’s mission of ensuring a safe and meaningful celebration of our nation’s independence,” Mendez said.

He also emphasized the importance of discipline, integrity, respect for human rights, and responsive public service throughout the deployment.

The regional director further instructed the deployed personnel to remain vigilant, exercise maximum tolerance, and maintain close coordination with the NCRPO and other concerned agencies to ensure the smooth conduct of Independence Day activities.

The augmentation forms part of the Philippine National Police’s intensified security measures aimed at strengthening law enforcement presence and ensuring the successful commemoration of the country’s 128th Independence Day.

PRO3 reaffirmed its commitment to supporting national security initiatives and contributing to a safe, peaceful, and orderly celebration of one of the nation’s most significant historical occasions. (Jason de Asis)
