AURORA — Virginia-based defense supply chain company Anglicotech LLC has reaffirmed its investment interest in the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO), particularly in ventures aligned with the defense and security sector, following a recent high-level meeting with APECO officials in Pasay City.
APECO President and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Gil G. Taway IV met with Anglicotech Chief Executive Officer David Cooper on December 19, 2025, to discuss the company’s continued engagement in the Philippines and its long-term investment outlook in Aurora.
The meeting highlighted Anglicotech’s confidence in APECO as a strategic location capable of supporting national security, logistics, and defense-related services, amid the country’s evolving regional security and economic priorities.
Discussions also centered on Anglicotech’s intention to adopt a measured, multi-phase investment approach, leveraging its current operational strengths while positioning for expansion as infrastructure, policy, and market conditions continue to mature.
Both parties underscored the importance of aligning prospective investments with government priorities, regional stability, and sustainable economic development, particularly in sensitive sectors such as defense and security.
“Our engagement with Anglicotech reflects a shared understanding that defense-related investments require stability, clear policies, a long-term perspective, and good governance,” Atty. Taway said. “We are strengthening these fundamentals under APECO’s current reforms.”
Taway further reiterated APECO’s commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment, supporting responsible defense-related industries, and promoting partnerships that generate employment and economic growth for the Province of Aurora.
Prior to the December meeting, Cooper and Anglicotech Philippines Country Manager Edmund Rustia conducted a site inspection at the APECO ecozone in Casiguran, Aurora on August 16, to assess potential locations for future operations.
Anglicotech has been operating in Subic since 2024, providing logistics, C5ISR (Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance), and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) support to both the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the United States Department of Defense.
The reaffirmed interest of Anglicotech is seen as a positive signal for APECO’s role in attracting strategic investments that balance economic development with national security considerations.
