BATAAN– Team AFAB, composed entirely of Bataeño athletes, secured a solid win at the inaugural 5150 FAB Triathlon – the first Olympic-distance triathlon ever held in both Bataan and in Luzon. The team showed that the province is ready to compete on a bigger triathlon stage.
Leading the charge was Erik Esperanzate, who not only topped his age category but also emerged as overall champion with an impressive 2:31:47 finish.
Close behind, Charles Christopher Cruz claimed 1st place in his age group and secured 4th overall with a strong 2:42:57 finish. King Ivan Reyes continued the streak, taking 1st place in his age category and finishing 5th overall in 2:44:48, while Cristine Montuya shined in the women’s division, topping her age group and placing 6th overall among all female competitors with 3:04:31.
Rounding out the team’s standout results, Jose Tindog clinched 1st in his age group and 16th overall at 2:59:59, Harly Baguistan secured 4th place in his age division with 3:09:39, and Allen Rey Yumul completed the race at 3:53:14, showing unwavering determination from start to finish.
