RIZAL — The Joint Task Group (JTG) 7-2, under the leadership of Brigadier General Eugenio Julio C. Osias IV, Commander of the 703rd Infantry (Agila) Brigade, Philippine Army, successfully recovered an arms cache belonging to remnants of the dismantled Komiteng Rehiyon Gitnang Luzon (KRGL) and Komiteng Larangang Gerilya (KLG) Narciso in Sitio Macaingalan, Barangay Puray, Rodriguez, Rizal on November 2, 2025.
The operation was carried out by elements of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, spearheaded by the 703rd Infantry Brigade, with support from the 80th Infantry Battalion under the 2nd Infantry Division, in line with the directive of the JTG 7-2 Commander.
According to reports, the successful recovery stemmed from actionable intelligence provided by a concerned citizen, which led government troops to the remote forested area where the cache was hidden.
Recovered from the site were: • Two (2) M653 rifles (Serial Nos. L923413 and SER063193) • Two (2) M16A1 rifles (Serial Nos. RP164013 and 293180) • Two (2) Caliber .45 pistols with three (3) magazines • Eight (long and twelve (12) short M16 magazines • Two hundred five (205) rounds of 5.56mm ammunition • Three (3) bandoliers • One (1) ICOM radio with an extra battery • Various personal belongings.
Brig. Gen. Osias IV lauded the troops and partner units for their swift coordination and intelligence-driven efforts, emphasizing that the operation was another significant setback for the remnants of communist terrorist groups operating in Central Luzon and nearby regions.
“This accomplishment is a testament to the strong synergy between our intelligence and combat units, as well as the vital support of the local populace. It sends a clear message that the Philippine Army remains firm in preventing the resurgence of communist terrorism and in safeguarding our communities from threats of violence,” Brig. Gen. Osias stated.
The recovery of the arms cache marks another milestone in the government’s campaign to neutralize insurgent remnants, reinforce peace and order, and promote sustainable development in Central Luzon and its surrounding provinces.
This operation highlights the continued success of the Philippine Army and its partners in dismantling the logistical and operational capabilities of former communist-terrorist fronts, contributing to a more stable and secure environment for local communities. (Jason de Asis)
