PAMPANGA — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Social Media Team emerged as the Best Social Media Team Nationwide, outshining 17 other regional police offices during the culmination program of the 30th Police Community Relations (PCR) Month held at Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame in Quezon City.
The award was given in recognition of the team’s innovative, consistent, and impactful use of social media platforms to communicate police programs, engage the public, and promote transparency and trust between the police and the community.
The PRO3 Social Media Team is headed by Police Lt. Colonel Dexter C. Versola, Chief of the Regional Public Information Office (RPIO), under the leadership of Police Brig. General Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr., Regional Director of PRO3.
In his message, Peñones Jr. expressed pride in the team’s digital accomplishments, saying the award highlights their dedication to modern, people-centered policing.
“This recognition is a testament to our commitment to build genuine connections with the public, online and offline. Our Social Media Team has become a digital frontliner in promoting peace, transparency, and community engagement, and I am proud of the professionalism and creativity they consistently bring to the service,” he said.
He emphasized that PRO3’s digital communication strategy is grounded in the principle of Simple, Direct, and Impactful (SDI) — ensuring that information disseminated to the public is not only accurate, but also clear, timely, and relevant.
Peñones Jr. also underscored the crucial role of social media in contemporary law enforcement, particularly in combating disinformation, raising public safety awareness, and strengthening police-community relations.
Over the past year, the PRO3 Social Media Team has been at the forefront of public information campaigns, crisis communications, and community engagement initiatives across Central Luzon. Their efforts have significantly boosted public understanding and appreciation of the Philippine National Police’s programs and services.
The award comes as part of the nationwide celebration of the 30th PCR Month, which carries the theme, “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang Gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas Ka.” It also reaffirms PRO3’s unwavering commitment to utilizing the power of communication technology to build a safer, better-informed, and more involved citizenry.
