NGCP reports unavailability of transmission lines in Bataan, CDO

MANILA – Teams from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) are now assessing two 69kV transmission lines servicing electric cooperatives in the provinces of Bataan and Cagayan de Oro (CDO) after these became unavailable before noon Monday.

In its 1 p.m. advisory, the power transmission operator said the Alasasin-Mariveles 69kV Line 3, servicing the Peninsula Electric Cooperative (PENELCO) in Bataan, became unavailable at around 11:33 a.m.

On the other hand, the Opol-CDO 69kV Line 1 servicing customers of the Misamis Oriental-1 Rural Electric Service Cooperative, Inc. (MORESCO-1) and the Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company, Inc. (CEPALCO) went down at around 10:29 a.m.

“Ongoing inspection of lines in the affected areas,” it said.

The advisory noted that “loss of power may be caused by affected transmission facilities of NGCP or distribution facilities of local distribution utilities or electric cooperatives.”

“Specific cities and municipalities affected by the power interruptions are determined by concerned Distribution Utilities, unless the outage affects the entire franchise area,” it added. (PNA)
