TARLAC — Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah “Mina” F. Pangandaman assures the government’s support to strengthening the education sector as she led the groundbreaking for the construction of an educational facility project in Tarlac State University, La Paz, Tarlac.

“Napakahalaga po sa mga SUCs natin ang research, napakahalaga po ng curriculum, pero equally important din po na magkaroon ng maganda, makabago at maasahang pasilidad para sa mga estudyante natin at mga guro,” Sec. Mina said during the grounbreaking ceremony held today 21 April 2025.

The project involves the construction of a 2-storey, 6-classroom school building with a total floor area of 621 square meters. The structure will be designed as a multi-purpose educational facility capable of supporting various activities, such as lectures, seminars, and community-based learning programs.

It is funded under the DBM’s Local Government Support Fund – Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FA to LGUs), one of the programs of the national government under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. The LGSF-FA provides assistance to LGUs to help them implement various projects, including roads, bridges, public markets, water supply and sanitation projects, evacuation centers, and multi-purpose buildings, among others.

“As we break ground for this project, it is my hope that we also realize its significance. Today, we are giving rise to a new site, where the dreams and aspirations of our young people can flourish,” the Budget Secretary expressed.

“Asahan n’yo pong kaagapay at kasangga n’yo po kami sa bawat proyekto at inisyatibang magpapabuti sa kalidad ng pamumuhay ng bawat Pilipino sa bawat komunidad,” she concluded.

For his part, La Paz Mayor Venustiano Jordan expressed his gratitude to Sec. Pangandaman for supporting the construction of the educational facility project, which he emphasized, is a symbol of commitment to attaining accessible quality education for all La Pazeños.

“On behalf of the entire community of La Paz and every La Pazeño, I extend our warmest welcome to Sec. Amenah Pangandaman, Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management. Ma’am Amenah, I am immensely grateful for your generosity, vision in education.
