Balikatan CJLOTS activities highlight interoperability, logistical readiness

AURORA– THE Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) delivered equipment to the shore in Dingalan aboard US ships in support of ongoing combined Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore (CJLOTS) operations training exercises in Aurora on April 9, 2025.

The CJLOTS operations, which is part of the Balikatan Exercises, was observed by Major General Franciso Lorenzo Jr PA, Commander of Armed Forces of the Philippines Education, Training, and Doctrine Command (AFPETDC), and Brigadier General Michael Logico PA, Deputy Commander of Philippine Army’s Training Command, to monitor exercise progress and evaluate logistics coordination.

They were provided firsthand insight into naval logistics integration and operational readiness as they visited the Philippine Navy vessel BRP Waray (LC288) at Dingalan Port.

The observation team proceeded to the designated beach landing site where they met by U.S. forces, further solidifying the strong bilateral cooperation and mutual understanding that underpin the joint exercise.

The combined group also embarked and toured a landing craft, the United States Army Vessel (USAV) SSGT Robert T Kuroda (LSV-7). This shipboard visit offered crucial insights into the vessel’s logistical capabilities, its operational functionalities, and the practical application of interoperability practices in a maritime environment.
