SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – The Fleet bolstered the Philippine Navy’s maritime ties with the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) as it welcomed the RTN contingent for their goodwill visit to the country.
RTN Cadet Training Unit led by Rear Admiral Borworn Promkaewngam, RTN along with RTN ships HTMS Chaophraya (FFG 455), HTMS Kraburi (FFG 457), and HTMS Prachuap Khiri Khan (OPV 552) arrived at the Rivera Wharf in Subic Bay Freeport where they were welcomed by a contingent from the Philippine Navy.
Following their arrival, Rear Admiral Promkaewngam, along with Commanding Officers Captain Navee Luengpayung of FFG455, Captain Ittikorn Buanuam of FFG457, and Commander Pitak Nachirit of OPV552 paid a courtesy call on the Philippine Fleet Commander represented by Sealift Amphibious Force Commander, Commodore Ireneo Battung.
A windshield tour of the Naval Operating Base facilities was conducted, followed by a shipboard tour for 50 RTN midshipmen aboard the BRP Antonio Luna (FF-151) and BRP Tarlac (LD-601).
