Alfamart partners with MSMEs to foster inclusive growth

The Sy family’s convenience store, Alfamart, is keen on partnering with micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to foster inclusive growth by offering spaces for them within the stores.

In a statement Wednesday, SM Investments Corp. said Alfamart’s latest partnership with a local enterprise is with Laundry Express, a self-service laundry shop with over 52 outlets across the country.

Laundry Express is Alfmart’s latest addition to partner MSMEs such as Coco Fresh Tea & Juice and Potato Corner.

“As we grow, we want our communities to grow with us. By offering spaces within our stores for MSMEs, we empower local businesses while enhancing the overall shopping experience for our customers,” Alfamart Philippines chief operating officer Harvey Ong said.

This year, Alfamart targets to open 200 stores in Luzon after ending 2024 with 2,100 outlets, creating 2,500 jobs.

Alfamart is now present in 11 provinces including Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Pangasinan, and Zambales, as well as 15 cities in Metro Manila.

“Fostering inclusive growth, creating more business and employment opportunities, and bringing modern minimart convenience to the communities remain our priority as we enter our second decade of service to the Filipino people,” Ong said. (PNA)
