AURORA – A joint anti-illegal drug operation led to the arrest of a 36-year-old suspect and the seizure of ₱23,120 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Gupa, Dipaculao, Aurora on February 18, 2025.
Authorities identified the suspect as Joselito, a resident of Barangay Ditale, Dipaculao, Aurora. He was apprehended during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Dipaculao Municipal Police Station (MPS), the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), and the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of Aurora.
During the operation, 3.4 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of ₱23,120, along with marked money amounting to ₱500, were confiscated from the suspect. The suspect was immediately taken into custody, and the seized items were brought to Dipaculao MPS for proper disposition.
Police Major Emil B. Sison, Chief of Police of Dipaculao MPS, commended the successful operation and reaffirmed the police’s unwavering commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in the province.
“This arrest is a testament to our continuous efforts in combating illegal drugs in our community. We will remain steadfast in our mission to keep Dipaculao and the entire Aurora province safe from the dangers of illegal substances,” Sison stated.
The suspect is now facing charges for violations of Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of Aurora(Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and will undergo further legal proceedings. (Jason de Asis)
