TARLAC – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the completion of a road improvement project that would benefit farmers in an agricultural community in Tarlac.
The DPWH said the road project connecting Barangay Sta. Rosa in Concepcion and Barangay Talaga in Capas, Tarlac would enhance the mobility and accessibility of residents.
District Engineer Edward Ricardo Ramos of DPWH-Tarlac’s 2nd District Engineering Office said the two-lane, five-meter-wide road spans 2.106 km.
It is also paved with 200-mm.-thick Portland Concrete Cement Pavement, providing a safe and reliable route between the two barangays, he added.
He said the PHP19.79 million project was funded under the 2024 national budget.
The widened road has significantly improved travel, making it faster and more efficient for residents and motorists while enhancing accessibility and fostering the growth of the communities.
Ramos said local farmers would benefit more as the road would provide easier transport of goods to markets, reducing delivery time and costs while boosting agricultural productivity.
He said the road has five installed solar LED streetlights, improving nighttime visibility, enhancing road safety, and reducing the risk of accidents. (PNA)
