Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose Aliño handed over to Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco copies of the “Birds of Subic Bay” book as a memento during a meeting with local chief executives of Zambales, Olongapo City and SBMA officials on Thursday (Dec. 12) at the Subic Bay Yacht Club in Subic Bay Freeport zone.
The meeting which a sideline event of the Philippine Experience Program (PEP) Central Luzon, focused on enhancing the region’s tourism potential, discussing plans to expand Subic Bay’s cruise tourism through homeporting and dedicated cruise port initiatives, developing Zambales’ accommodations via Mabuhay accommodations and homestays, integrating the Tourist-Oriented Police for Community Order and Protection (TOPCOP) program with barangay tanods in Olongapo City to ensure tourist safety, and promoting dive tourism, among others.
