CAVITE CITY – Philippine Fleet (PF)’s Deputy Commander, Commo. Juario Marayag, was installed as the acting commander of the Sealift Amphibious Force (SAF) following the change of command ceremony held Monday, October 28 at Naval Base Heracleo Alano in Cavite City.
Commo. Marayag took over from former SAF Commander, Commo. Socrates Daza as he compulsorily retired from the service. He held such post for two years and ten months.
PF Commander, Rear Adm. Renato David presided over the ceremony where he commended the outgoing commander “for your invaluable service and for elevating this unit to great heights. Your stint as Commander, Sealift Amphibious Force may come to an end but the exceptional legacy you leave to your men will surely remain.”
He likewise conveyed his vote of confidence to the incoming acting commander, emphasizing that he can build upon the excellent foundation laid by Commodore Daza. At the same time, he urged the men and women of the Sealift Amphibious Force to support the new force commander with the same loyalty and dedication they showed towards his predecessor.
Commo. Marayag pledged to lead with integrity, to listen and to guide the Sealift Amphibious Force through whatever challenges they may face. He encouraged everyone to remain steadfast in their commitment and to never lose sight of the greater purpose.
Meanwhile, Commo. Daza expressed his gratitude to the dedicated men and women of SAF who have become like family to him, and reminded them to “never forget the importance of habits and values, character and personality. Your habits become your values; Your values become your character and your character becomes your personality.” (PR)
