First ever Evo City Front Act run gathers more than 1,500 to the pre-run of Rock ‘n’ Roll Manila

CAVITE– New and seasoned runners gathered for the newest run in town, the EVO CITY Front Act Run on 20 October 2024 at Kawit, Cavite.

The musical running event celebrates health, music and community, and promised to be a teaser to what is to come in November for the 2024 ASICS Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Manila presented by AIA.  Evo City is a progressive estate by Ayala Land that is set to offer a balanced mix of residential, business, commercial and green spaces that foster a dynamic environment in the South.

The fun run attracted over 1,759 registrants and features three distances – half marathon, 10km and 5km.  Each participant will receive an event shirt and medal according to the distances they finish, as well as various freebies from sponsors and partners.  Similar to the main running event, the course will be dotted with music to encourage each runner to have fun, moving to the beat and crossing the finish line.  DJ Marc Marasigab will headline the event with his electronic beats and Nikko Huelgas will lead the pack of runners in the starting line.

The concept of the pre-run or community run is for long-distance runners to gauge the progress of their training for their upcoming running events.  With EVO City Front Act Run, participants of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Manila will be able to bring the community together, not only to prepare for the November event, but also to open the event to be more inclusive – it allows more people, including beginners, families, and casual runners, to participate without the pressure of running a marathon.

“The passion and dedication of the community has inspired us to open a new run that will showcase what running, music, and community is all about – which is the three pillars of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series,” said Princess Galura, General Manager of The IRONMAN Group Philippines. “We wanted to make the musical fun run class more accessible, especially for new runners who want to take up the hobby, as well as families who want to introduce an active lifestyle to their kids.”

The Evo City Front Act Run is backed by Evo City as the title sponsor, with event partners 2Go, Ion Advance Electrolyte Drink, Lightwater, and Sante. Marketing partners Century Tuna and Gardenia; and Media Partners Manila Bulletin, Tempo, One Sports+, and Cignal. (PR)
